CHICAGO (670 The Score) -- All-Pro safety Eddie Jackson tested his right ankle hours before kickoff at Soldier Field and passed in the eyes of the Bears' team training staff.
Jackson was officially listed as active for the Bears' wild-card game against the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles, adding a key figure back to the Chicago defense. However, the Bears will be without tight end Trey Burton, who suffered a groin injury Saturday at some point in the team's pregame preparation.
Burton did not appear to test himself out during pregame warmups. How the injury occurred is not yet known, and Bears officials deferred to coach Matt Nagy's postgame press conference. A former Eagle, Burton has 54 receptions for 569 yards and six touchdowns this season.
The return of Jackson bolsters the Bears' top-ranked defense for the postseason, adding a safety to the secondary who recorded six interceptions and two defensive touchdowns on the season. Jackson was selected to the AP All-Pro Team and Pro Bowl for his work this season.
The Bears will be without Burton, outside linebacker Aaron Lynch (elbow), receiver Kevin White, guard Eric Kush, tackle Rashaad Coward, receiver Javon Wims and defensive lineman Nick Williams.
Kickoff between the Bears (12-4) and Eagles (9-7) comes at 3:40 p.m. CT from Soldier Field.
