CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A legendary flying team will take to the skies over Chicago to say thank you. The Navy's Blue Angels have been flying over cities across the country to salute doctors, nurses, healthcare workers and others who have been on the front line fighting against COVID-19.
On Tuesday, the precision flying team will hit the upper Midwest, with flyovers scheduled for Chicago, Detroit, and Indianapolis.

May 11, 2020 While you're eyes may be focused on the skies Tuesday, your mind may be moving ahead to late summer and the Chicago Air and Water Show. The Blue Angels are typically the closing act of the Chicago Air and Water Show. Their tight loops and precision maneuvers over the lakefront send people home with smile.
The event is scheduled for Aug. 15-16. The city said the event usually attracts 2.2 million people to the lakefront over the course of two days. It's not known if the event will be modified, postponed, or canceled.
