CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Development along Chicago's shores have people excited as they visit the Chicago Boat Show.
The 90th annual show opened Wednesday at McCormick Place, a day after a developer announced plans to open a marina along Navy Pier.
Boat Show Manager Keith Ogulnick said having a place for people to temporarily dock their boats downtown will be phenomenal for the recreational boating industry.
Gideon, who docks his boat at Diversey Harbor, says all of the restaurants and bars along the Chicago Riverwalk have given boaters another reason to head downtown.
Seven hundred boats and 100 RVs are on display at the show, which runs through Sunday.
Organizers expect 50,000 people to come through.
