CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Chicago-based Boeing has conducted the first test flight of its autonomous air taxi.

Paul Hochman, President of Humongous Media, tells the Noon Business Hour the game-changing technology could be a normal part of urban lives well within the next decade.

Having a vehicle that can float over ground-based traffic could ease congestion on the road, he said.

“The hoped-for range is 50 miles. It could take care of a lot of peoples’ commute,” Hochman said.

Hochman noted Boeing isn’t the only company developing air taxis. Audi is also partnering with firms on its own version.
