CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Immigrant rights protesters gathered across the Chicago area and around the country Friday ahead of President Trump’s plans to start roundups of illegal immigrants in Chicago and other major cities on Sunday. A vigil was held outside the Palmisano Nature Park at 29th and Halsted to protest the President’s immigration policies.Organizer Rene Paquin said as soon as she posted word of the protest on social media, she got a sense of just how divided Bridgeport is over what to do about illegal immigration. She said some people responded in support of the protest, while others said they supported the president and that his immigration policies are the right thing to do.
