DELEVAN, Illinois (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – The company Revolution Enterprises is growing a lot of pot between Springfield and Peoria. An expansion underway will let it grow a lot more.

Company CEO Mark de Souza presided over a groundbreaking Thursday afternoon.

“We focus on quality control on an industrial scale,” de Souza told WBBM Newsradio.

“Where cannabis is legal, we want to be the trusted source for patients and,  in areas where it’s legal, for recreational users to have a trusted product that is safe for them to use.”

Delavan Mayor Liz Skinner said her city has annexed Revolution, which is in a tax-increment finance (TIF) district.

The company is betting big on cannabis.

“I think there will be a lot of opportunity for everybody. We think it’s a very robust and safe environment for investors and expansion,” de Souza said.
