CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A warm day following Chicago's deep freeze meant for busy times at the River North Hand Car Wash at 356 W. Superior St.
Cars lined up outside the car wash even before it opened at 8 a.m. The car wash's manager, Eduardo Jacobo, said that winter "works both ways."
"After the whole storm, it comes in, the whole business rises all the way up," Jacobo said.
He said everyone wants to get there car looking good even if it's only for a a few days before the next snowstorm next Thursday.
Dina Carr was out of the country when the bad weather first hit but said it was important to get her car cleaned up to get the salt off and preserve the paint. She was at the carwash getting her mother's car washed.
"I don't want her out here (getting her car cleaned)," Carr said with a smile.
The cars lined up, dirty, then emerged shiny and pretty — even if just for a while.
