
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Because real fans wear pink!
The Chicago Bears unveiled Tuesday the 2019 "Real Bears Fans Wear Pink" shirts in partnership with Advocate Health Care ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The long-sleeve shirt features design elements celebrating the 100th season and emphasizes wearing pink to message the importance of screening and early detection in fighting breast cancer.
Proceeds from the shirt benefit Bears Care and help local programs which provide care, assistance and support services to breast cancer patients and their families, including helping facilitate timely access to critical breast health services for low-income women.
This is the 12th year for the Real Bears Fans Wear Pink campaign. Over the last eleven years, the team has raised nearly $1.2 million to support breast cancer patients and their families through the campaign
The Chicago Bears and Bears Care will officially recognize National Breast Cancer Awareness Month at the "Crucial Catch Game" on Sunday, Oct. 20, when the Bears take on the New Orleans Saints at Soldier Field. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to show their support.
