CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- With a background in interior architecture, the work of Tam Wimolvan Vidulich revolves around color.

"I see things in colors, which is kind of weird,” she tells WBBM Newsradio’s Steve Miller. “When I talk about some things, a certain color pops up.”

Tam Wim is the Ravenswood-based business she created in 1992. She designs rugs, all made of New Zealand wool.

She was born in Thailand, which is reflected in many of the colors in her designs. She says it's satisfying putting the right colors with the right person.

She misses people.

“I usually would get people come in and when they walk in, they would be like, 'You know, I can't afford your carpet, but I would like to talk,’” she says. "And we would go on for an hour talking.”
