Chicago Faces Decorate The River Walk In New Art Project By Local Artist Don't Fret

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Part of the Chicago River Walk is now decorated with new street art.

Fifty-five caricatures of Chicago residents line the waterfront path between the Franklin and Lake street bridges. Collectively, the works comprise “The People in Your Neighborhood.”

The portraits include Chicago's beloved “Tamale Guy,” late journalist Mike Royko and and Gino, a cook at Manny's Deli.

The installation is on the far west end of the Riverwalk near Wolf Point.

I suspect you already know @thetamalefamily Claudio Aka The Tamale Guy, who is finally living his dream of opening his own restaurant in UK Village thanks in part to a kickstarter funded during these trying times. You might know Jeff Magill, who bartended at the lower wacker Billy Goat for 30+ years, serving the likes of Ebert to Algren.
