Chicago Museums Prepping To Reopen

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- More Chicago cultural institutions are getting ready to get back in business amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The Art Institute of Chicago will once again welcome visitors starting on July 30.
 
As a special welcome back, the Art Institute will be offering free admission to all Illinois residents July 30 to Aug. 3. Tickets must be reserved online. Face coverings will be required, social distancing will be enforced and some galleries will have limited capacity or might be temporarily closed.

The Museum of Science and Industry will open to the public on Aug. 1 with a capacity lower than 25 percent. There will also be timed entries, online ticket buying and other "science-based policies."
 
The Field Museum of Natural History reopens to the public this upcoming Friday. Members have gotten exclusive early access starting this past Friday with Member and Donor Appreciation Days.
