CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago Park District security officer drove onto the ice at Montrose Beach to ask residents to remove their dogs from a restricted area.

Park District officials said the ice cracked and the SUV fell into the water.

A tow truck drove onto the ice to assist the vehicle, but it too fell through the ice.

A second tow truck was called to remove the first tow truck.

The Park District said it's hoping a bulldozer will successfully remove the security vehicle from the water.

No one was injured, but park district officials remind residents to keep their dogs off the beach.
