CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago police shut down a demonstration Monday at Buckingham Fountain, where several dozen people demanded the immediate opening of the city and state.
Police said the demonstrators were not practicing social distancing or abiding by public health guidelines outlined in the stay-at-home order, so they ordered the crowd to disperse.

May 25, 2020 Among the speakers at the rally was State Representative Darren Bailey, the downstate republican who is suing the Governor and was kicked out of the Illinois House session last week when he first showed up without a mask.
Mayor Lori Lightfoot also reacted on Twitter saying, "Regarding today’s large unpermitted gathering at Millennium Park: while we respect 1st amendment rights, this gathering posed an unacceptable health risk and was dispersed. No matter where in the city you live, no one is exempt from @GovPritzker ’s stay-at-home order."
