CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- No one will be shopping at the Christkindlmarket on Wednesday.
The National Weather Service issued Wednesday a high wind warning from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. They warned that the wind is expected to blow down trees and power lines, and cause outages.
Forecasters are expecting winds between 25 and 35 mph with gusts between 50 and 60 mph, the weather service said.
OEMC said the market will reopen Thursday, with special Thanksgiving hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
