Coin Toss Decides Tied Trustee Election

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A coin toss Tuesday morning has decided the winner of a trustee’s election in south suburban Sauk Village.

Cook County Clerk Karen Yarbrough was preparing to flip a coin to determine who would be one of the new trustees in Sauk Village: Gary Bell or Beth Zupon.

Each had 288 votes for the seat.

Bell won the drawing to call the toss and picked “tails.”It went his way.

Zupon said record low voter turnout led to the tiebreaking method.
