CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Cook County Sheriff’s Office is asking you to help thank the thousands of people who keep us safe and healthy during the COVID-19 crisis.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office is launching the "Thank You from a Distance" campaign, asking people to support emergency responders from afar.
The office said thousands of law enforcement and healthcare workers show up to work each day to try to keep the rest of us safe and healthy.
"Isolation is not an option for CCSO staff who work tirelessly to keep the wheels of our society turning," the office said in a statement.
How can you help?
The sheriff's office is suggesting people take to their computers, or grab crayons and colored pencils, or do videos from their phones, or write letters thanking first responders and others.
"Please take a moment and this opportunity to thank your first responders and ensure them we’re thinking of them and always grateful for their sacrifice, particularly during this time," the office said in a statement.
