  • NEW NUMBERS: On Sunday, the Illinois Department of Public Health announced 1,656 new cases of COVID-19, including 57 additional deaths. State health officials are reporting a total of 77, 741 cases, including 3,406 deaths in 98 counties in Illinois since this pandemic began.   • Four local businesses have been selected to produce, source and provide one million reusable cloth masks that will be distributed across Chicago, Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced Saturday.  Barbara Bates Designs, G.A.I.A.U. Product Design & Development Limited, Silk Screen Express and The Will Group will create 250,000 reusable cloth masks that will be distributed to aldermanic offices through the city's mask donation initiative, and another 750,000 reusable cloth masks to be provided to vulnerable and low-income residents through the city’s Racial Equity Rapid Response Team.   • Three more drive-through coronavirus testing sites will be opened next week as Illinois continues efforts to get a handle on the number of infections across the state, Gov. JB Pritzker said Friday as the state reached a new daily benchmark in collecting test samples. The new locations, which have not been announced, join seven mobile facilities now in operation that collectively compile more than 3,000 tests daily.   • There’s some advice being offered Wednesday to people thinking about the day they return to work and about how to prevent separation issues in their dogs. DuPage County Board Member Brian Krajewski said he's had it happen to him. He's left home after being around his dog for a long time and the dog becomes upset with separation anxiety. Krajewski heads the DuPage County Board’s Animal Services Committee.   • Businessman and philanthropist Willie Wilson said he's planning to give away millions of face masks outside three churches this weekend after Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot found problems with his original strategy. Wilson said he wanted to give out five million face masks outside the United Center to help people during the coronavirus pandemic. DETAILS HERE.
