(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- "King of the Surf Guitar" Dick Dale, whose scorching and rapid-fire playing was featured to jaw-dropping effect in Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction," has died at the age of 81, numerous media outlets reported Sunday.
The electric guitar-playing innovator had been battling several health ailments in recent years and passed away Saturday.
