(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- During tough times of uncertainty and anxiety, it can be hard to remember to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Tivoli Theatre in Downers Grove is reminding us of that with a new uplifting quote on its marquee.
"Do what you can, with what you have, with where you are," by Theodore Roosevelt is front and center on the marquee, visible to passerby on bikes, cars and on foot.
These words by the late politician and influential historical figure speak to the panic and overwhelming sense of action that some might feel to help the pandemic cause or control the situation at hand. But, Roosevelt's quote reminds us that we can do our best with small efforts that are part of a collective community, like staying home and saving lives, as Mayor Lightfoot has repeatedly said.
The quote can also help be at peace in sheltering in place, for even though Illinois is flattening the curve, the pandemic shows no signs of stopping yet.
