CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Investigators in DuPage County believe items they’ve recovered were from burglaries that may be linked to a suspect they already have in custody.

The Sheriff’s Office is providing a link of pictures of the recovered items and is hoping people come forward to claim their belongings.

DuPage County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Bureau Chief Bob Toerpe said it should be fairly easy to connect the dots to the suspect they have in custody if burglary victims come forward to claim items taken from their vehicles in the Lombard, Villa Park, and Oakbrook Terrace areas.

“We’re assuming most of the items that we’ve located here are from burglaries that were not reported. That’s pretty common. People accidentally leave their cars open at night, don’t necessarily call the police the next day, and we believe that’s where most of the proceeds came from. It’s still a burglary nonetheless,” he said.
