CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago State University and former Bears defensive tackle Chris Zorich have parted ways.
A statement from the university issued Tuesday said Zorich is no longer employed by Chicago State. He had served as athletic director for more than a year.
“We appreciate the work Mr. Zorich has done for the University and wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” the statement said, offering no details.
Chicago native Zorich was on the University of Notre Dame's 1988 national championship team and played for the Bears from 1991 to 1996. He ended his career a year later with the Washington Redskins.
WBBM Newsradio's Dave Kerner talked with Zorich earlier this year about his AD job.
