CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Faith leaders in Chicago are calling for action after a series of attacks on Jewish people in New York and elsewhere.
WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore reports from the Loop.
After more than a dozen anti-Semitic attacks in New York, New Jersey, California and elsewhere in December alone, Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, was leading a call for action on Monday.
The Jewish human rights organization is calling on President Trump to ask the FBI to investigate the recent rash of anti-semitic attacks.
Cooper said federal authorities could determine if there are connections among the attacks.
Asked their own opinions, most of the leaders said hate speech on social media plays a big role.
The faith leaders are calling for a joint show of support in pulpits, mosques and synagogues next month.
