MORTON GROVE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Police seek witnesses to a hit-and-run accident that left an 86-year-old man dead in Morton Grove Jan. 4.
Leonid Belogur, who was out for his nightly walk, was struck when crossing Shermer Road at Greenwood Avenue, just north of Dempster Street. The area has been problematic for pedestrains and it has seen a hit-and-run before. Four years ago, another 86-year-old was fatally struck in almost the same location.
Morton Grove authorities have called in the Major Case Assistance Team to investigate. Belogur's family is offering a $10,000 reward to help find the driver of the accident.
