CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The White Sox have figured out a way to put faces in the seats when the team resumes play later this month.
Fans aren't allowed in the stands because of COVID-19, but their likeness could make a cameo.
The Vice President of Community Relations for the Sox, Christine O'Reilly, explains:
For $49, you can upload a photo of your face to whitesox.com/fantasticfaces. Your photo, subject to guidelines, will be put on a cutout that will be placed in a seat at Guaranteed Rate Field when the Sox play their opening three-game series against the Minnesota Twins.
The series is scheduled to begin July 24.
The opportunity is capped at 1,500 cutouts. Fans can later pick up the MLB-authenticated keepsakes or have them shipped.
O'Reilly says the money raised will go to White Sox Charities, which support hundreds of organizations around the Chicago area.
