CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Ford has unveiled a $1 billion investment in two plants on Chicago's South Side.
WBBM Newsradio’s Jennifer Keiper took a tour this week to look at some of the changes, which include new robotic components, a command center and 3-D printers.
The company has added 500 new jobs in Chicago, after a shutdown to retool some of the production lines.
Ford makes the Explorer, Lincoln Aviator and Police Interceptor in Chicago.
