CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago artist and muralist Mosher spent nine days a top a boom lift creating a giant, colorful mural that welcomes patrons to Recess, Fulton Market's largest outdoor patio.

"There's a big woman with a television as her head, there's the King Kong-like monkey character and a cartoon woman driving in a convertible in front," he said.

Mosher has created murals and art in Chicago for the last 10 years.

"This is one of my bigger projects. It's a visceral experience to see something that big when we're conditioned to look at art on the screen all the time, in our hand," he said.

He hopes to make a statement and make a difference in Chicago's unique neighborhoods.

"We're part of a neighborhood now that's moving forward and really embracing all the public art along the viaducts. You can hear in the background the trains running. The aesthetic absolutely fits. You've got the gritty and finer finishes."

Recess, 838 West Kinzie, debuted its massive outdoor patio last last month.
