CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Change in plans: Goose Island Brewery will award trips to NFL games – not free beer for a year – to contestants who can kick a 43-yard field goal this weekend.
The Chicago brew-makers earlier this week offered the beer-prize challenge in the wake of Cody Parkey's failed 43-yard field goal attempt that capped the Bears' heartbreaking Jan. 6 loss to the Eagles (Parkey's kick was blocked, the NFL ruled).

On Friday, a company representative took to Twitter to move the goal posts, so to speak:
"We heard from some Illinois lawmakers that free beer for a year is not allowed."
Anyone who makes a 43-yard field goal will attend a regular-season NFL game of their choice on Goose Island's dime. These contestants also progress to a "grand prize" round: If they kick a 65-yard field goal, they'll win a trip to the Super Bowl.
