CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Here at WBBM, our studios have a view of the lakefront and a rooftop at Prudential Plaza.

This week, we also got some new neighbors: 200,000 honey bees across four hives.

We asked for a tour from Shelby Schulman, urban beekeeping team director for Alveole, which has about 20 beehive sites in downtown Chicago.

"For you I do have a veil. In case a bee comes over to you, feel free to put this on,” she said Wednesday.

But we did not don the veil.

It took awhile to spot the queen.

"She looks great."

Honey gets harvested in September. The bees will spend the winter right where they are now, on the Prudential Plaza rooftop.
