(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The head of the Illinois Republican Party was on hand -- in person, in North Carolina -- to cast delegate votes for President Trump.
Chairman Tim Schneider cited Illinois favorite son Abraham Lincoln as the first Republican President and said noted the state was also the birthplace of party icon Ronald Reagan.
Back in Illinois, Steve Boulton, Chairman of Chicago Republican Party, tells WBBM Newsradio Political Editor Craig Dellimore that the national convention should help energise the party's base.
