(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Lake County authorities say a man spent almost a year in jail and was released Monday, shortly before murdering a family member in Park City.

It was in the early Tuesday when the body of a 68-year-old woman was found in a mobile home in Park City.

Authorities saw she'd been stabbed. Outside, they noticed her car was missing.

Lake County Major Crimes Task Force Spokesman Christopher Covelli said the car was spotted at a gas station in Waukegan. Sixty-year-old Jeffery Michael Thrall was arrested and charged with murder.

Thrall had been recently released from jail after serving nearly a year on charges separate from this incident, Covelli said.

In fact, Covelli says, Thrall was released just hours before the woman's murder.

The two were related, he said.

Thrall's bond was set at $5 million.
