CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart applauds the goals of a court order to let low-level, non-violent defendants remain free before trial, but he notes some dangerous people are being released back into the community, too.

The Cook County Jail population is down, Dart said, and people who used to stay locked up on minor drug or theft charges are no longer housed there.
