(670 The Score) When tight end Jimmy Graham weighed his options in free agency, the possibility of how the Bears could use him was appealing.
Graham, 33, joined the Bears on a two-year deal believing coach Matt Nagy and his scheme would bring out his best. What Graham doesn't know upon arriving in Chicago is who will be the quarterback throwing him the football in 2020.
The Bears are set for a quarterback competition between Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles, whom they acquired from the Jaguars in a trade on March 18. Graham has spent his entire 10-year career playing with future Hall of Fame quarterbacks in the Saints' Drew Brees, the Seahawks' Russell Wilson and the Packers' Aaron Rodgers. Never has he been on a team with a question mark at quarterback.
Nonetheless, Graham is embracing the opportunity to help the Bears sort out their quarterback situation.
"I've had the opportunity to watch Trubisky over the past few years," Graham said. "I mean, the kid's got a lot of talent, obviously. What he did two years ago and how he dominated was exciting to see. As well as what Nick Foles has done in this league with winning a Super Bowl. I've got a lot of confidence in our coaching staff and our quarterback room, and I'm excited to work with these guys.
"That's kind of one of the big stories this offseason is our quarterback room, but I'm excited to work with both of them and to see where I can help both of them and where we can all get on the same page."
Graham has caught 51 of his career touchdowns from Brees, 18 from Wilson and five from Rodgers. He may not know until the start of the 2020 regular season which quarterback will be targeting him in Chicago.
