(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- One Lake County official hopes a vandalism incident involving a hate symbol will generate a counter-response about tolerance.
County Board member Jessica Vealitzek recently discovered a swastika spray-painted on Seth Paine Elementary School. She posted an image of the graffiti, which was quickly removed after police were notified.
Now, Vealitzek hopes some good may come from the crime.
She said she has talked with school officials about the possibility of a mural to help foster a more positive message, about love.
The superintendent tells Vealitzek officials will consider the proposal early in the new year, she said.
