CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Mayor Lori Lightfoot acknowledges that many Chicagoans are still getting parking tickets during the Coronavirus crisis.
But she notes she didn't exactly say they wouldn't be be ticketed.
Last week, among other debt-relief measures, Lightfoot said parking enforcement would focus on cars that present a public safety concern, such as vehicles blocking fire hydrants.
Some drivers apparently didn't hear when she said, "This is not free parking."
So, some of them parked without paying the boxes and got penalized.
