CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Mayor Lori Lightfoot is driving home the message of "Stay Home, Save Lives" during the COVID-19 outbreak.

In a social media video posted Monday, Lightfoot has a little fun with her stern image by showing residents how to endure their collective house arrest. In one scene, she's playing with flour in the kitchen and spelling out her now-familiar directive. In another, she burns some time by playing guitar and singing the slogan.

We'll let people decide for themselves whether she should give up her day job:

I don’t have much time to myself these days, but I felt I needed to make sure everyone knows how I feel about this Stay at Home Order. Which one motivates you the most to stay at home? #StayHomeSaveLives pic.twitter.com/pDbCdySMQk

Earlier Monday, the mayor said she has enjoyed the memes that have appeared online that Photoshop a dour image of her into pictures of familiar Chicago sites, with the mayor effectively shooing people away so that they don't congregate. Lightfoot and her health commissioner last week ordered lakefront trails, the 606 Trail and other spots off-limits to the public after brief warm weather brought crowds out.

Experts say the only way to beat coronavirus is for most people to isolate themselves temporarily.
