DETROIT (670 The Score) -- Matthew Stafford started 136 games in a row at quarterback for the Lions before being injured earlier this season. Now, they're set to start a third-string quarterback.
The Lions announced Wednesday night that they're starting David Blough at quarterback in place of backup Jeff Driskel, who's dealing with a hamstring issue. They were called into action with Stafford ruled out due to broken bones in his back.
Blough, 24, has never played in an NFL regular-season game. He signed with the Lions this offseason as a rookie quarterback undrafted out of Purdue.
Bears defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano said Tuesday that his team was preparing for Driskel, who was limited in practice during the short week of work. The Bears defeated the Driskel-led Lions, 19-14, at Soldier Field on Nov. 10.
The Bears' inactives are offensive tackle Bobby Massie (ankle), receiver Taylor Gabriel (concussion), tight end Ben Braunecker (concussion), linebacker Danny Trevathan (elbow), tight end Adam Shaheen (foot), defensive back Sherrick McManis (groin) and defensive lineman Abdullah Anderson.
Kickoff between the Bears (5-6) and Lions (3-7-1) comes at 11:30 a.m. CT from Ford Field in Detroit.
