CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- “People are usually celebrating something when they come to see us,” said Andy Nolan, owner of A1 Trophies and Awards in Streamwood.
“One of the appeals of getting into this industry was the idea that almost anyone can be a customer, because I may do a name tag for a church, I may do an award for a not-for-profit, a municipality, a sports league, corporate, so everybody I meet is an opportunity for us.”
A1 Trophies and Awards has been around for about 40 years. Andy Nolan is its third owner.
He said he bought the business nearly three years ago and does everything from out-of-the catalog trophies and plaques to custom designed pieces.
“Some interesting fantasy football. Guys get pretty creative with some of their senses of humor so you’re asked to put some pretty interesting things into some awards so that would probably top the list,” Nolan said.
Nolan believes it’s important to have a busy location in Streamwood.
A1 Trophies and Awards is located at 670 S. Barrington Road in Streamwood.
