CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- It's one of the largest outdoor patios in the city of Chicago.
"We have over 14,500 square feet of patio space," said A.G. Hollis, partner, co-owner, Recess at City Hall.
Recess has become quite the respite in the COVID era.
"Being that large we can accommodate over 300 people comfortably, safely," he said.
The former Ryder Truck facility was transformed with 30 shipping containers, something Hollis said makes it so unique.
"You can see multiple levels within the space. You'll see cabanas that are 8 feet off the ground, you'll see a 40 foot container bar, you'll see a 17 foot giant pergola in the center of the space," he said.
"It's really one of the most unique neighborhoods in the city of Chicago, because it's really a live, work and play environment unlike any other area in the city," Holmes said.
Recess, located at 838 W. Kinzie Street, is open at 4 p.m. on weekdays and 11 am. on weekends; closing times dependent on city curfew. Reservations are available online.
