(670 The Score) Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is among a group of 26 key Bears players not expected to play Friday's preseason game at MetLife Stadium, the team announced.
The Bears will play the Giants led mostly be reserve players on their 90-man roster. This comes after a game-simulating structured scrimmage on Wednesday night at Halas Hall that allowed action in a controlled setting for Chicago's starters.
The list of players not expected to play includes the following, according to the Bears: Trubisky, Akiem Hicks, Eddie Goldman, Bilal Nichols, Khalil Mack, Danny Trevathan, Roquan Smith, Leonard Floyd, Kyle Fuller, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Eddie Jackson, Prince Amukamara, Buster Skrine, Taylor Gabriel, Cordarrelle Patterson, Adam Shaheen, Trey Burton, Bobby Massie, James Daniels, Cody Whitehair, Charles Leno, Kyle Long, Tarik Cohen, Allen Robinson II, Anthony Miller and David Montgomery.
The Bears also confirmed that the veteran guard Long did not travel with the team, this coming after a heated altercation in Wednesday's scrimmage.
Kickoff between the Bears and Giants comes at 6:30 p.m. CT from MetLife Stadium.
