CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Scammers are using coronavirus as an excuse to get into your home, and police in Morton Grove are warning residents.
There is no such thing as an in-home COVID-19 inspector - that's the word from Morton Grove Police, who said in a Facebook post, such scammers are appearing in other communities.
They allegedly go door-to-door offering to test, but are really looking to get access to your home and your personal information.
Police said many wonderful people have stepped up to check on each other, but if someone appears at your door, they must have a permit from the village. If you are not sure, they say please call 911.
