CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) --  Chicago’s Pritzker Military Museum will open a special exhibit Thursday to mark the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day invasion in World War II.

The exhibit includes recordings from six veterans of the D-Day invasion of France, who shared their memories of the battle.

One of the men is Southwest Side resident Ray Wagner, 94, who said he was thrown in the water as he made his first attempt to land on Omaha Beach.

Wagner said his knee was shattered by shrapnel once he got ashore.

Photos, artifacts, videos and maps are also part of the exhibit, which runs for six months.
