CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Many employers frown on employees who spend time watching March Madness or tending to their brackets.

That's not the case at LaSalle Network, where more than 800 employees from outlying offices and customers of all kinds were invited to party down in its 25th-floor offices at 200 N. LaSalle St.

Its 13 big-screen TVs all were turned to games in progress.  There were all kinds of edibles, including staples such as nachos, popcorn and 25 varieties of homemade chili for a cook-off.  To drink there was everything from water to beer.

CEO Tom Gimbel embraced March Madness 10 years ago, and shows no sign of folding his tent. He says it's as much a networking event as fun, and employees and customers alike say it's a day they anticipate eagerly.

Monday, it's back to business, but Gimbel says much of it will be following up on leads from the Friday event.
