CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The invitation from a South Side Catholic church for Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan to speak tonight about his ban from Facebook and Instagram has drawn strong condemnation from the CEO of the Illinois Holocaust Museum.

Susan Abrams accuses Farrakhan of being anti-Semitic and says the church invitation sends the wrong message.

The pastor of St. Sabina’s Church, Father Michael Pfleger, says the ban is a threat to free speech, and he accuses Facebook of ignoring users who spread messages of hate.

The director of violence prevention initiatives for the Chicago Archdiocese was also at the Holocaust Museum, saying the Archdiocese shares the Museum’s abhorrence to hate speech, and that Pfleger never consulted with the Archdiocese about the invitation to Farrakhan.
