CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A West Chicago woman has solved the mystery of a bride in a vintage picture found at a thrift store.

Jessica Barone asked on Facebook last week for help finding the stunning bride in a black and white portrait she discovered tucked inside a frame at a St. Charles Goodwill.

And the internet delivered.

Someone who saw the post -- which has been shared more than 48,000 times -- connected Barone to the woman's daughter after she had posted a similar picture of her mom on what would have been her 88th birthday.

Barone learned the bride is Peggy Lewis, who was born May 28, 1931, and lived in downstate Wilmington.

It appears one of Peggy's sons donated or sold the frame without knowing the wedding photo was in there.

Barone plans to mail the picture to Peggy's daughter in Iowa along with some of the 2,000 comments people made on the Facebook post.

She had offered to fix up the frame and send it, but Debi Schull already has a family heirloom she wants to put her mom's photo in.

So Barone plans to put her own wedding picture in the frame and a copy of Peggy's picture behind it, just the way she found it.

The whole experience has been uplifting, Barone said, and full of wonderful comments.
