CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Another piece of Chicago's summer, one that has been taking place for more than 50 years, has been taken away by the coronavirus.
Adam Cumbee, the communication and marketing director for the Park District of Forest Park, told WBBM, "unfortunately we had to make the tough decision to cancel the No-Glove National Softball Tournament."
The tournament, scheduled for late July, attracts 16-inch softball teams and fans from all over the country.
Cumbee said it's a real loss for Chicago's sports scene.
"Taking sports away from people in Chicago is never an easy thing to do, we're a sports town. It's really a bummer," he said.
