CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Mayor Lightfoot says the City of Chicago is considering what requirements may be needed when COVID-19 restrictions are relaxed and people return to the workplace.

A reporter the mayor Tuesday whether city workers and others will be required to have their temperatures checked when they are able to come back to City Hall.

Actually, Lightfoot said, there are discussions about that and other measures — and not just at City Hall.

It’s possible, for example, that temperature checks may become the norm for people entering office buildings.

Social distancing and other precautions won’t end abruptly, Lightfoot said. It will be a gradual process, especially without a cure or a vaccine for coronavirus, she said.
