CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Chicago police are investigating the recorded attack of a girl that was posted to social media.
"This is absolutely horrific. No young lady should be treated like that - especially by individuals who, by looking at the video, appears that she knows in some way, shape or form," Chicago Police Department Spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said.
CPD saw the video Tuesday, and the Special Victims Unit was investigating.
The video shows the victim walking with a group of young people down an alley. At one point, another young woman begins attacking the victim, who begins wailing.

The victim may have a mental illness, he said.
"She's clearly with individuals that she either trusts or feels that are equals or friends of hers," he said.
"It's certainly not what anybody wants to see. And it doesn't represent what the people of Chicago really are."
