CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Embattled R&B singer R. Kelly was taken into police custody Wednesday after he appeared in court to address overdue child-support payments.
The 52-year-old singer -- who faces an unrelated slew of sex-abuse charges for alleged misconduct against women and underage girls -- showed up at the Daley Center dressed in a suit and wearing sunglasses.
During that erratic appearance, Kelly angrily denied to interviewer Gayle King that he has broken the law or that he holds women captive, allegations generated by a docuseries, "Surviving R. Kelly." It was that recent series that revived claims against Kelly, a Chicago native who was acquitted of child-pornography charges in 2008.
