CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- When the Chicago Bears open their regular season on Sept. 5, fans can expect to see some changes –- before the game even starts.
Last year, about 20 percent of fans entered Soldier Field using a digital ticket on their phone. This year it will be around 99 percent.
"We know there's a learning curve,” Bears Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Relations Lee Twarling said Monday.
"A lot of continued education (will) have to happen throughout the entire year,” he said. “But we're hoping as people get ready for Sept. 5, especially, that they're ready to come in on the phone."
Fans will find some new food inside, including the Lake Shore Drive Hoagie.
"Sesame bun, lettuce, tomato, tzatziki, mayonnaise, white cheese. I mean -- giardiniera, red onion, it’s just fabulous,” said Tom Elder, executive chef for Aramark at Soldier Field.
