(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Bitter cold and broken wires have made it a rough winter for riders on the South Shore Line. Monday and Tuesday will be another example.
The trains are expected to operate on normal schedules between Carroll Avenue/Michigan City and Chicago's Millennium terminal.
The 1,500 volt-DC wire that powers South Shore trains has proven to be brittle this winter when contracting. The railroad offered discounts on commuter passes and free westbound trips during previous disruptions.
